
30 Aug 2021, Tokyo: Devendra Jhajharia and Sundar Singh Gurjar won silver and bronze in the men’s Javelin Throw F46 category at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics here on Monday.
Dinesh Priyantha of Sri Lanka won the gold with a world record throw of 67.79 meters in his third attempt. Another Indian in the fray Ajeet Singh finished eighth with a throw of 56.15 meters.
Devendra won silver with a Personal Best throw of 64.35 meters. While, Sundar Singh won bronze with a season best throw of 64.01 meters.
With today’s silver medal, Devendra Jhajharia became the first Indian player to win Paralympic medal in three different decades.
