23 June 2022: Tokyo bronze medallist and two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist David Nyika will lead an eight member New Zealand boxing team for the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

Emile Richardson has been selected as a reserve in the Men’s U75kg division.
The New Zealand boxing team at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games won one gold and four bronze medals.
The boxing competition at Birmingham 2022 will begin on 29th July and finish on 7th August. The bouts will be held in the National Exhibition Centre.
