India Won 2 Gold at 17th Singapore National Swimming Championship on day 2

24 Jun 2022, Singapore: Tokyo Olympian Srihari Nataraj Won Gold in 50m men’s Backstroke event with a timing of 25.69s.

The Indian National Record in 50m Backstroke is 25.18s which was achieved by Srihari Nataraj last year. This is Srihari Nataraj’s 2nd Gold Medal at the 17th Singapore National Swimming Championship.

He had earlier won Gold in 100m Backstroke with a timing of 55.32.

In the women’s 50m Backstroke, Suvana Baskar settled for silver with a timing of 29.82s after losing to Lona Anderson of Australia, who fetched Gold in 28.40s.

Tokyo Olympian Maana Patel, who won silver in the women’s 100m backstroke on Thursday, finished 11th in the 50m backstroke with a timing of 30.05s.

Aneesh Gowda won Gold in 200m freestyle with a timing of 1:52.47 and claimed silver in the 400m Individual Medley with the timing of 4:37.18.

In the 400m freestyle relay, Srihari Nataraj, AS Anand, D Adhithya and Sambhavv Rama Rao combined to win Silver with a timing of 3:26.82.

Overall India has won a total of 10 medals at the Singapore meet 5 Gold, 4 Silver and 1 Bronze.

The competition will conclude on June 26.
