03 Aug 2022, Birmingham: Indian girls pull off a win in a tense game against Canada to reach the semifinals of Hockey at Birmingham 2022.
India took an early lead going 2-0 up, then let Canada back into the game 2-2 draw. Here both teams had chances to take the lead, but it was Lalresiami who woke up to score that important goal taking India to the next hurdle.
The Semifinal will be against Australia on the 5th August 2022. It is now important for the girls to grab this opportunity with both hands.
Savita Punia has to inspire the girls now, this is the best chance to redeem yourself and all for the flak taken since the Tokyo Games.
Come on Girls, lift yourselves and give it 100%. You have proved it at the Olympics that this team can put it across the Aussies.
