31 Jul 2022, Birmingham: Weightlifter Achinta Sehuli win India’s third gold at Birmingham 2022 after he brought home the laurel in men’s 79kg weightlifting final here on Sunday.
Achinta Sehuli won Gold medal with total lift of 313kg, a new commonwealth games record in?men’s 79kg category.
Achinta lifted 143 kg (a games record) in Snatch and followed it with 170 kg in Clean and Jerk to finish 10 kg ahead of silver medalist.
India stand 5th with 3 Gold, 2 Silver & 1 bronze. So far all medals for India at Birmingham 2022 have come from Weightlifting.
