Glasgow, 28 Nov: Top seed Pranaav Jerry Chopra and N. Sikki Reddy went down fighting to the Malaysian pair of Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai in the summit clash of USD 55,000 Scottish Open Grand Prix 2016 here at the Emirates Arena on Sunday.
The Indian mixed doubles pair lost 13-21, 21-18, 21-16 in a match which lasted for 57 minutes. The Indians were unable to close out the match, after leading 16 – 12 in the final game only to allow the Malaysian pair to win 9 points in a row and with that the match. Even in the second game they squandered the lead, after winning the first game comfortable.
A silver medal finish at the Scottish Open for the pair will certainly help them gain few valuables points as they try to break into top 20. Pranaav and Sikki had won the Brazil Grand Prix in September and Russian Open in October this year.
