@PVSindhu1 crashes out in semis of #DubaiSSF... @BAI_MediaClick To TweetDubai: Rio Olympic Silver medallist PV Sindhu’s campaign  came to an end at the BWF World Super Series Final, as she went down fighting 15-21, 21-18, 16-21 to World No 5 Sung Ji-Hyun of South Korea in the women’s singles semi-finals, today.

In the first game the Korean, who remained unbeaten in the Group stage, entered the break with a slender 11-9 lead. After the break, she extended her lead to 18-14, before closing the game 21-15.

In the second game, at the Interval Sindhu managed a 11-10 lead, after trailing 0-2 initially. Post break, they moved from 11-11 till 18-18, as the duo tried to outdo each other. However, Sindhu managed to take the match to the decider, with some accurate play at net and managing to win couple of rallies.

In the third and final game, Sung took the early lead as she raced to a 4-0 lead, which became 11-6 at the interval in favour of the Korean. The world No. 5 didn’t allowed the Indian to comeback even after the break, as she extended the lead first to 15-9 and then to 18-12.

Two superb smashes by The Indian did produced a couple of superb smashes before, Sung Ji-Hyun converted five match point advantage at the first opportunity to seal her place in the finals.

The match lasted 1 hour and 16 minutes. After today’s match PV Sindhu has a 6-4 win – loss record against Sung Ji Hyun
